Teaching
With a style marked by humor, passion and curiosity, the award-winning writer Deborah Artman has been teaching creative writing since 1980. She has taught poetry and prose at the primary, secondary, college and graduate school levels. She has led workshops at Oberlin College, worked with students in grades 1-8 through the Poets in Public Service program in New York City and been a Visiting Writer at Randolph College. She is currently a Writing Instructor at University of Hartford/Hartford Art School International MFA Program in Photography and most recently was a Lecturer of Graduate Thesis Writing for the MFA Photography Department at the Rhode Island School of Design. In addition, she works privately with students and writers, both in workshops and one-on-one tutorials. Deborah holds a BA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Oberlin College and an MFA in Fiction Writing from the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers.
